I just completed my first day at my internship. It was very nice; yes I think that’s how I would describe it. It’s a bit ironic for a company that produces horror and suspense films. The office is very small, the duties are very manageable and mostly involve me reading and covering scripts. Coverage is when I summarize a script, write what is good and bad about it, and recommend or say to pass on it to the producers in the office. The experience doing coverage will help me become a better writer and better editor, if I ever decide to become a screenwriting professor.
I’d like to tell you more but I feel that I would be violating my 7 page long confidentiality statement I signed. Basically it stated that I would have to kill you all if I told you anything to avoid termination, a restraining order, a gag order, and eventual lawsuit.
The real fun started when I tried to go home, instead of doubling back like I normally do, I decided to follow LA Metro’s trip tracker directions. In about half an hour I ended up in Hollywood, a bit far away from my apartment in Burbank. For those who don’t know, I bussed right by it. After standing in front of an adult bookstore for 20 minutes and getting smiled at by a exceedingly friendly and extremely fit bicyclist, I found myself heading back towards Burbank.
On the bus I observed a couple of characters, first a man with a mustache so long it covered his mouth (like this guy without the curls) The second was a woman who was sitting up front asking another woman about her boots. The woman wearing the boots did not want to be talked to, and the woman talking didn’t seem to understand that.
I’ll conclude today with two things, one of my finds on the Hollywood walk of fame.
And this: Rush Limbaugh opinion about president Obama.
